Herald Fire Prevention Council

The mission of the Herald Fire Prevention Council is to safeguard our community by actively promoting fire safety, education, and preparedness to build a safer, more resilient environment.

Welcome To Herald Fire Prevention Council

Wildfire resilience starts with community. The Herald Fire Prevention Council (HFPC) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to protecting lives, homes, and landscapes in Herald and the surrounding Sacramento region. We bring neighbors together to reduce fire risk, strengthen preparedness, and build a safer future for rural communities.

Through education, defensible space mapping, home-hardening projects, and inclusive outreach, HFPC empowers residents of all ages to take practical steps toward wildfire prevention. Our campaigns—like the Golden Paradox Challenge—connect local restaurants, donors, and volunteers in creative ways that make resilience both accessible and sustainable.

This site is your hub for resources, events, and opportunities to get involved. Whether you’re here to learn, volunteer, or support our mission, you’re part of the movement to keep Herald strong, safe, and ready.
