In recognition of Community Risk Reduction (CRR) Week, taking place January 19–26, 2026, CAL FIRE – Office of the State Fire Marshal (OSFM) is leading a statewide effort to educate the public and engage partners in advancing CRR initiatives.

We invite the local Fire Safe Councils, and County Coordinators to help amplify this effort by utilizing the free CRR Week toolkit linked below. The toolkit includes ready‑to‑use graphics, written materials, and video content that can be shared to promote CRR at the local level.

The goal of CRR Week is to raise awareness about how communities—regardless of size, type, or location—can enhance public safety, reduce preventable incidents, and ultimately protect the lives of both community members and firefighters.
