Goal: Heavy Eucalyptus Stump Abatement

“I couldn’t do this on my own anymore.”

Imagine living through California wildfire seasons knowing your property is surrounded by dense, explosive timber—and physically being unable to clear it yourself.

For many elderly neighbors in Herald, that fear is a daily reality. They built their lives here, raised families here, and contributed to our rural town for decades. But age and physical limits mean heavy land management is no longer possible without help.

1,100 Hours of Hope.

Through our partnership with the California Conservation Corps (CCC), our community stepped in. Hand crews poured over 1,100 hours of grueling, free manual labor into clearing hazardous brush for our most vulnerable seniors. For the first time in years, these residents felt safe in their own homes.

The Threat Isn't Gone—It's Resprouting.

Hand crews can cut brush, but hand tools cannot eliminate massive eucalyptus stumps.

Right now, while CCC crews are deployed on active wildfires through September, those eucalyptus stumps are aggressively regrowing into dense fuel loads. If we wait, our hard-earned progress will be lost.

We are hiring licensed, insured tree and mastication contractors equipped with heavy stump grinders and machinery to finish the job before winter.

You can be the reason a senior neighbor sleeps peacefully this wildfire season.

Why Capital is Needed Today:

  • 100% Free Labor Leveraged: Every dollar spent on contractors directly finishes work backed by over 1,100 hours of free crew labor.

  • Stopping Resprout: Eucalyptus stumps must be ground down and treated now to prevent explosive regrowth.

  • Preparing for Fall: Heavy contractor work completed now ensures senior properties are fully prepped when CCC crews return in October.
