Volunteer Application Form
Founding Executive Director
Herald Fire Prevention Council | Part-Time (Volunteer-to-Paid)
The Herald Fire Prevention Council (HFPC) is seeking an entrepreneurial leader to serve as our Founding Executive Director. This role is a unique "build-to-own" opportunity. You will lead the launch of the Golden Paradox Challenge, a community-driven initiative designed to stabilize local fire prevention funding while driving massive traffic to our business partners.
The Mission: The Golden Paradox Challenge
Launching in 5 months, the Golden Paradox Challenge is a weekly prize engine. As Executive Director, your primary objective is to recruit and manage a network of 1,000 businesses to participate in this ecosystem.
The Prize: Each participating business provides a $100 weekly prize coupon.
The Sustainability Model: Partners contribute a $20/month donation to the Council (beginning 30 days after the challenge goes live).
The Exposure Engine: We utilize our Google Ad Grant and a proprietary rotation algorithm to ensure all partners receive high-volume digital exposure and foot traffic.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnerships: Lead the outreach effort to secure commitments from 1,000 local and regional businesses.
Marketing Management: Oversee the Google Ad Grant strategy to ensure the "Engine" is driving maximum visibility to the Challenge.
Program Launch: Prioritize communications with member partners
Board Liaison: Report directly to the HFPC Board on growth metrics and community impact.
The Path to Full-Time Paid Leadership
This is initially an unpaid, part-time leadership position. However, we have established clear revenue-based benchmarks. Achievement of these growth targets will trigger the transition of this role into a competitive, full-time paid Executive Director position.
Benchmark 1: Secure first 500 business commitments.
Benchmark 2: Paid part time position
Benchmark 3: Secure 1000 business commitments full time offer of employment
Complete application and press send. Email resume to: LCJames@Heraldfirecouncil.org
Qualifications
Proven experience in business development, sales, or nonprofit leadership.
Familiarity with digital marketing (Google Ads) and data-driven growth strategies.
A passion for community resilience and wildfire prevention.
